    Description

Scientific Name: Cyanoliseus patagonus Native Range: South America The Patagonian Conure, also known as the Burrowing Parrot, is a large conure species within the family Psittacidae. It is characterized by predominantly olive-green plumage, a yellow abdomen, a red patch on the lower belly, and blue flight feathers. In the wild, Patagonian Conures inhabit arid and semi-arid regions, shrublands, grasslands, and open woodlands across parts of Patagonia. They are unique among parrots for nesting in burrows excavated in cliffs or river banks, often forming large breeding colonies. IUCN Conservation Status: Least Concern At Parrot Stars, we prioritize education, welfare, and responsible parrot ownership to help ensure every bird finds and thrives in a forever home. Before taking home any parrot, we provide comprehensive guidance on proper caging and setup, positive reinforcement training, household safety, nutrition, and enrichment. Parrots in captivity are still wild animals with all their natural instincts. Your overall success and experience with any species of companion parrot is greatly impacted by positive reinforcement training. A parrot’s behavior reflects both the environment they live in and the training they receive. All of our hand-fed babies are hatched and raised in our own breeding facility and weaned onto a diverse, high-variety diet. Our parrots are never clipped and are fully flighted.
