Scientific Name: Psittacus erithacus Native Range: Central and Western Africa The Congo African Grey is an extremely intelligent medium-sized parrot species characterized by silver-grey plumage, a bright red tail, and a pale face. They belong to the family Psittacidae and are the larger of the two commonly recognized African Grey subspecies. In the wild, they can be found in large flocks that inhabit lowland rainforests, forest edges, and wooded savannas.
