Description
Scientific Name: Ara spp. (Hybrid) Native Range: Not naturally occurring; produced in captivity The Catalina Macaw is a large hybrid macaw resulting from a cross between the Blue and Gold Macaw (Ara ararauna) and the Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao). As a captive-produced hybrid, it does not occur naturally in the wild and therefore has no native geographic range. Catalina Macaws typically display a mix of red, orange, yellow, green, and blue plumage, reflecting traits inherited from both parent species. At Parrot Stars, we prioritize education, welfare, and responsible parrot ownership to help ensure every bird finds and thrives in a forever home. Before taking home any parrot, we provide comprehensive guidance on proper caging and setup, positive reinforcement training, household safety, nutrition, and enrichment. Parrots in captivity are still wild animals with all their natural instincts. Your overall success and experience with any species of companion parrot is greatly impacted by positive reinforcement training. A parrot’s behavior reflects both the environment they live in and the training they receive. All of our hand-fed babies are hatched and raised in our own breeding facility and weaned onto a diverse, high-variety diet. Our parrots are never clipped and are fully flighted.
